Why AdSense Earnings Are Dropping.
Aaron Wall explained in his post why AdSense earnings are dropping. He gave some perfect examples about economy and advertisers which are cutting their budgets on paid search advertising. Aaron also mentioned in his blog that Google decreased clickable space on the ads which appear on a website.

There are even more reasons why AdSense isn’t the best place to make money anymore:
When Google AdSense program first appeared in 2003 it was a hot place to make money and webmasters who was fast enough got good commissions during the first year. Regular internet user wasn’t familiar with Google ads and thought that links are natural or internal. Today, even your grandmother knows that it is better not to click there.
Picture ads which appear in AdSense code look like a regular banner (it is a banner!). Average banner click rate are dropping every year and people don’t click banners like they used to do it in 1996.
Click fraud reached 16% during the last year; companies which bid high price for clicks are trying to disable link appearance on Google AdSense and trust appearance in search results only.
Google AdSense is still the best PPC / PPI program for publishers comparing with Yahoo ads, Clicksor, Bidvertiser, Adbrite, or any other. Webmasters who are disappointed with earnings should concentrate on something else or even open their own advertising program to find direct sponsors by selling ads on their site.

In January when Google stocks started dropping it was common knowledge on the market to get rid of all Google stocks.
Google is trying anything to make money and get their stocks back up. From space travel to “save the planet.” Currently they have lost key executives in their company which is a bad sign to Wall Street.
Major companies like “Overstock.com” have stopped all ads with Google back in 2007.
Adsense does still pay the best out there, but keep your eyes open. CPA’s are going to change. I think you are seeing the beginning of the end of these types of companies.
