What you should learn from Jeff Quipp.
If you are in web development industry and you browse social media sites like MyBlogLog, Digg, Sphinn, or StumbleUpon you probably noticed that some people are everywhere. After month or two you can see the same avatars, pictures, or nicknames. Jeff Quipp, CEO of SearchEnginePeople is one of this people who always bookmark interesting links, share information, and participate in all discussions. He uses his own picture as avatar and it is hard to miss his smiling face reading news or browsing links.

Jeff is the one who share and never spam; I never saw him linking his own website SearchEnginePeople. The only place you can find his own link is profile page and people who are really interested can go and check.
I decided to check traffic of his website trying find how people respond to his self promotion and positive behaviour. SearchEnginePeopleonline since 2002 and it used to have small traffic, in the past year traffic jumped to thousands people a day and now it has Alexa Rank 45 000… not bad for SEO company. Jeff Quipp proof that active participation in social media websites can benefit business and give good reputation.
